Ray Holman is still travelling, having performed extensively in
the Northeast and Midwest United States in the past three months.
His latest performance in Seattle was with a full gospel choir at
a Catholic church. He filled in spaces in their songs and would
solo on each. Much of the music was African American gospel.
He leaves September 23 for New York to visit friends and talk to
concert promoters. He heads for Trinidad October 4.
His concert with the San Luis Obispo Symphony went over very well
before an audience of 3,500 sitting at tables on the greens near
the beach. One highlight for him was a stirring solo piece he performed
called Caricia that has become very popular with steelband concert
goers. He plans to put it on his next CD. At the same concert Ray
also sang and played the guitar on Pan in Danger. The conductor
of the symphony said he wants Ray to play again next year.
Already, Ray is booked for most Spring 2005.
